Slow Dance on Concrete
Bare feet, a cold floor, and one record you both love.
A loft has room to move, and most nights nobody uses it. Tonight you push the furniture back, put on a record, and dance badly before you dance slowly.
The evening
Smoldering: Flirtier, a little closer.
Dance close enough that you're sharing breath. Keep your hands where the other person puts them, and let the songs get slower. When one of you stops moving, kiss until the record ends.
Pick a pause word you'd never say by accident. Either of you can use it, or simply say stop, at any point and for any reason. Check in along the way, and treat a not yet as a perfectly good answer.
The setting
Let the city do some of the work. Two warm lamps on low, and nothing overhead.
Old soul or slow R&B, the kind of record that was made for this. A playlist works fine too.
Something warm and a little smoky, low enough that it shows up only when you're close.
Dance barefoot on the cool floor, then end up on the thickest rug you have.
Positions it suits
From the position guide: frank, practical and comfort-aware, with the furniture that makes each one easier.
Both standing, facing each other, close enough to kiss. Spontaneous and hot.
Lying on your sides, turned toward each other. Eye contact and ease.
One seated at the edge, the other close and supported. Upright and connected.
Missionary with the top partner kneeling upright and the receiving partner's knees falling wide. Easy, open and very visual.
