Rain on the Steel Windows
A rainy night, the lamps off, and the city doing the lighting.
Big windows earn their keep on a wet night. Turn the lamps off, pull a blanket over to the glass, and spend an hour watching the weather and each other instead of a screen.
The evening
Smoldering: Flirtier, a little closer.
Stay in the nest and trade slow kisses between rain gusts. With one finger, trace the path a raindrop takes down the glass, but on your partner's back. Go only as far as the slower of you wants.
Pick a pause word you'd never say by accident. Either of you can use it, or simply say stop, at any point and for any reason. Check in along the way, and treat a not yet as a perfectly good answer.
The setting
Lamps off. Let the window and one candle on the floor be the only light.
Turn the music off if it's really raining. If not, a rain track with a soft piano under it.
A pot of something hot, and maybe a window cracked an inch for the smell of the rain.
Drag the biggest blanket and a few pillows over to the window. The floor will be cold, so layer up.
Positions it suits
From the position guide: frank, practical and comfort-aware, with the furniture that makes each one easier.
Both on your sides, one behind the other. Lazy in the best way.
One seated at the edge, the other close and supported. Upright and connected.
Lying on your sides, turned toward each other. Eye contact and ease.
Half spooning, half missionary. One partner on their back, the other on their side.
