A seasonal look, here each holiday season. We keep this page up so you can read about it in the meantime.
Velvet Holiday is the room for the longest nights of the year. Deep green velvet on the bed, antique gold catching candlelight, one simple garland of real greenery, and the snow, or at least the cold, kept on the other side of heavy drapes. It is festive the way a good dinner is festive: warm, a little dressed up, and mostly about who is there with you.
Every color does a job.

Velvet Holiday, in the room.
The same room, by day and by night.
Winter does half the work here. It is dark early and cold outside, and this room answers with velvet, fur and firelight colors that make you want to stay under the covers together. The garland and the candles say it is a special night, but the bed is clearly the point of it. It is a holiday room for two, not for hosting.
Candles first: a row of ivory tapers in brass on the dresser, and a few flameless pillars near the bed so you can relax about them. Weave one short string of tiny warm lights through the garland and leave the rest of the lights off except a brass bedside lamp turned low. Gold and velvet need flicker, not brightness.
Pieces that build the look.
Velvet Holiday is coming next holiday season.
It's in the Room Designer during its season. Until then, upload a photo of your bedroom and try it in any of our other styles.
