Will it fit?
Measure the room once, wall to wall. Pick a bed and the pieces you want around it, and see where it all goes, drawn to scale, with the walkway left on every side.
Width runs along the top of the plan, length down the side.
Tick each wall with a window on it.
Typical sizes; yours may differ a little.
A queen fits with room to spare.
The plan
Drawn to scale from above, one grid square per foot. Windows are drawn in the middle of their wall; only which wall they're on matters here. The bed includes about 2 in of width and 3 in of length for a frame and headboard.
Notes
- That leaves 35 in on the window side, 35 in on the side by the right wall and 61 in at the foot. We aim for 24 to 30 in beside the bed and 36 in at the foot.
- The headboard goes on the top wall, clear of the door's swing.
- It stays out from under the windows, so curtains open and close freely.
