We built Braise for the room that gets overlooked.
We're Ryan and Maghan, husband and wife, parents, and the founders of Braise.

Like many couples, we've spent years building a life together: careers, children, responsibilities, schedules, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with them. Along the way, we noticed something surprising.
People thoughtfully design every important part of their homes. They create inviting kitchens where families gather. They build offices that help them focus. They design living rooms for connection and comfort. Yet the room most connected to intimacy and the relationship itself is often an afterthought.
We started Braise because we believe intimacy deserves the same intentionality as any other part of life.
Why us
Our backgrounds couldn't be more different, and that's exactly why Braise exists.
- Maghan is a Family Nurse Practitioner with years of experience helping people navigate health, wellness, and the realities of everyday life. Her perspective keeps our work grounded in trust, communication, and evidence-based guidance.
- Ryan is an engineer and product builder who approaches problems through design, systems, and user experience. His perspective shapes how we evaluate products, build tools, and help people transform spaces into environments that support connection.
And a genuine eye for design
Neither of us came up through interior design, and honestly, that's part of the point. Creating spaces that feel good is the thing we've always done for the love of it. We're the couple who rearranges a room until the light is right, who notices how a fabric feels and how a piece sits in a space, who friends text for recommendations before they redo a room.
Years of making our own home intentional (warm, considered, ours) taught us that good design isn't about a degree or a trend. It's about attention: to proportion, to materials, to how a room actually makes you feel when you're in it. That's the eye we bring to every product we test or vet and every space we reimagine, and it's why pairing it with Maghan's clinical grounding and Ryan's systems thinking feels like exactly the right combination for this.
What we set out to build
Together, we saw an opportunity to create something we couldn't find ourselves: a trusted resource that treats intimacy with maturity, honesty, and good design. Not clinical. Not explicit. Not sensationalized, just thoughtful guidance, independent product reviews, and room-design ideas that help couples create spaces where connection feels easier.
Because intimacy isn't separate from the rest of life. It's part of how we build it, and we believe the spaces we live in can help nurture it.
How we keep it honest
