What is Braise?

Braise is an independent, consent-first guide to designing intimate spaces: honest product reviews (each labeled tested or vetted), expert guides, store comparisons, our Room Designer, and one-on-one design consultations. We help adults build a bedroom that actually feels like theirs.

Do I have to be 18 or older?

Yes. Braise is for adults 18+. By using the site you confirm you meet the age requirement in your jurisdiction. How we keep it that way is on our trust and safety page.

Are your reviews paid for?

No. Brands cannot buy a verdict, a placement, or a kind word. We earn affiliate commission on some purchases, and that never changes a verdict. The full detail is in our editorial standards and affiliate disclosure.

How do you rate products?

We only publish products we recommend, so every review carries a recommendation tier: Braise Top Pick, Highly Recommended, or Recommended. Each review also explains why we chose it, what works well, and who it's for. Brands cannot buy a verdict or a tier.

Do you test everything yourselves?

No, and we're upfront about it. Some products we test hands-on; others we publish as vetted picks, built from expert consensus, verified-buyer feedback, and materials and safety specs when buying every option isn't practical. Each is clearly labeled, so you always know which kind of judgment you're reading. The full method is in our editorial standards.

What's the difference between a tested review and a vetted pick?

Two kinds of coverage, and we label which is which. A tested review means we've had the product in hand and used it ourselves. A vetted pick means we haven't tested it hands-on yet, so we've assessed it from manufacturer specs, verified-buyer reviews, and trusted expert coverage, and included it only if it clears our bar. Both are chosen on merit, never for payment.

How does the Room Designer work?

You pick a mood, upload one photo of your room, and we render a styled version of that same space with every piece linked to somewhere you can buy it. Your first render is free with an account; after that, an Unlimited membership covers up to 30 a month. The full walkthrough is on how it works.

What does Braise Unlimited cost, and what does it add?

It's $9.99/mo monthly or $59/yr yearly, which starts with a 7-day free trial. There's also a founding lifetime membership ($149 once), limited to the first 100 members. A free account already opens a lot. Unlimited adds the Velvet, After Dark and Burn card decks, Velvet and After Dark dice, the After Midnight position how-tos, Play, The Playroom with Draw from the Trunk, After Dark scenes, the Midnight Room each October, and the Room Designer's member features: up to 30 renders a month, See it at night, Change one thing, 4K and 360° views. What happens to the photos I upload?

We strip the location and camera data, check the photo for people and anything explicit, and use it to make your render. Then we delete it. After you see your render, we ask once if we may feature your before and after, and only if you say yes do we receive and keep a private copy. Your render is saved privately to your account, only you can see it, and you can delete it whenever you like. We never sell your images. The privacy policy has every step.

How discreet is shipping and billing?

Braise doesn't ship products. You buy from the retailer we link to, and their packaging and billing apply. We call out each store's discretion in our store comparison so you can choose with that in mind. Memberships, gift cards and consultations are paid through Stripe under a neutral name that doesn't identify the site.

Where do the product links send me?

Out to the retailer that sells the item. Some links are affiliate links, so a purchase may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. If we don't yet have a live link for a piece, the link keeps you on our review for it instead.

What do the design consultations include?

Anywhere from a focused single-room plan ($49) or a live video session ($149) to Signature ($499, paid when you book), our most complete service, with video sessions, a scan of your room you take yourself, renders, and a ready-to-buy cart. Every tier is remote, so no one visits your home, and Braise doesn't install anything. Each tier spells out exactly what you get, who it's for, and how it runs. How do gift cards work?

A Braise gift card works for anything Braise sells: one month, three months or a year of Unlimited (which includes the Room Designer), or a consultation. It can't be used for products from other retailers, and it never expires. The recipient redeems it at braiseroom.com/redeem or on their account page, with no payment card needed. Unlimited time is added after any time they already have and never renews on its own. A consultation credit is used when they book, or they can turn it into Unlimited time at the yearly rate instead.

Do I need an account?

You can read reviews and guides and use the comparison and budget tools without one. An account lets you make renders, save rooms, build a wishlist you can share, and link with a partner. The same account signs you in to the Braise app.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete saved rooms and saved answers yourself from your account page at any time. To delete your whole account, use "Delete my account" at the bottom of your account page. It cancels any membership and removes the account and what's saved with it. You can also email hello@braiseroom.com from the address on it and we'll do it for you. The privacy policy explains exactly what that covers.
