What is Braise?

Braise is an independent, consent-first guide to designing intimate spaces: hands-on product reviews, expert guides, store comparisons, our Room Designer, and one-on-one design consultations. We help adults build a bedroom that actually feels like theirs.

Do I have to be 18 or older?

Yes. Braise is for adults 18+ only. By using the site you confirm you meet the age requirement in your jurisdiction.

Are your reviews paid for?

No. Brands cannot buy a verdict, a placement, or a kind word. We earn affiliate commission on some purchases, and that never changes a verdict. The full detail is in our editorial standards and affiliate disclosure.

Do you test everything yourselves?

No, and we're upfront about it. Some products we test hands-on; others we publish as vetted picks, built from expert consensus, verified-buyer feedback, and materials and safety specs when buying every option isn't practical. Each is clearly labeled, so you always know which kind of judgment you're reading. The full method is in our editorial standards.

Some reviews say “sample”. What does that mean?

As we launch, a number of reviews and guides are illustrative placeholders, clearly flagged as sample. They show the format and depth of our coverage while we publish the tested, final verdicts. We'd rather label that honestly than dress up unfinished work.

How does the Room Designer work?

You pick a mood, upload one photo of your room, and we render a styled version of that same space with every piece linked to somewhere you can buy it. The full walkthrough (and exactly what we do with your photo) is on how it works.

What happens to the photos I upload?

They're stored privately, visible only to you through short-lived links tied to your account. We never sell or share your images, and you can delete a saved render whenever you like. See how it works for the details.

How discreet is shipping and billing?

Braise doesn't ship products. You buy from the retailer we link to, and their packaging and billing apply. We call out each store's discretion in our store comparison so you can choose with that in mind. Our own billing descriptor for consultations is neutral.

Where do the product links send me?

Out to the retailer that sells the item. Some links are affiliate links, so a purchase may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. If we don't yet have a live link for a piece, the link keeps you on our review for it instead.

What do the design consultations include?

Anywhere from a focused single-room plan to a full, white-glove design engagement. Each tier spells out exactly what you get, who it's for, and how it runs. Compare them on the consultations page.

Do I need an account?

You can read reviews, guides, and use the comparison and budget tools without one. An account lets you save rooms from the designer and build a wishlist you can share.
