Spooning

Also called: Side-lying from behind

Both on your sides, one behind the other. Lazy in the best way.

How to do it

Both partners lie on their sides facing the same way, the back partner tucked behind the front one. The front partner lifts their top leg slightly or draws their knees up toward their chest to make room, and the back partner enters from behind. Movement is short and slow.

What it's good for

Sleepy mornings, tired nights, sore bodies and long, slow sex. It's one of the most comfortable positions there is, including for many people in later pregnancy.

Make it easier

A pillow between the knees or under the front partner's top leg keeps hips aligned. The back partner can tuck an arm under the front partner's neck instead of lying on it.

A small tip

The back partner's hands are free. Use them to hold, stroke or reach around with a toy.

Agree on it before you try it, use plenty of lube, and either of you can stop at any point. This guide is general information, not medical advice.
