Wide Open

Also called: Wide Opened, Kneeling missionary

Missionary with the top partner kneeling upright and the receiving partner's knees falling wide. Easy, open and very visual.

How to do it

The receiving partner lies on their back with knees bent and let fall open to the sides, feet flat on the bed. The other partner kneels upright between their legs and sits back toward their heels, knees spread a little wider than their hips for balance. With the top partner upright rather than lying down, there's no weight on the receiving partner at all, and both of you can see each other's whole body. The kneeling partner's hands are free to rest on the receiving partner's hips, thighs or belly, or to use a toy. Pulling the receiving partner's hips up onto the kneeling partner's thighs steepens the angle.

What it's good for

Eye contact without anyone's weight on anyone, and free hands for touching or a vibrator at the same time.

Make it easier

A pillow under the receiving partner's hips does the lifting for you, and a cushion under the kneeling partner's knees helps on a firm mattress.

A small tip

The kneeling partner can lean back slightly on one hand and use the other for touch; the change in angle is small but noticeable.

Comfort and care

Hard floors are rough on knees. A folded towel, pillow or thick rug underneath makes a real difference.

Made easier with

A wedge under the hips gives the angle without anyone holding it.
