Personal Best
Celebrate a finish line with a warm-up, a long stretch and something new.
You finished the race, the program, the hard month. Celebrate the way athletes should: recover well together, then try one thing you've been meaning to.
The evening
After Midnight: Bolder. Suggestive, never explicit.
Try a position from the guide you've never done, with the chaise or a wedge for support: Hips Raised, The Butterfly at the bed's edge, or Facing on the Lap. Use a couples toy if you like. If anything strains, switch to something you already love.
Pick a pause word you'd never say by accident. Either of you can use it, or simply say stop, at any point and for any reason. Check in along the way, and treat a not yet as a perfectly good answer.
The setting
A couple of warm lamps at floor level so nothing glares.
Downtempo with a pulse you can move to without trying.
Fresh and awake, never heavy.
Something forgiving underfoot, a stack of warm towels, a light blanket.
Positions it suits
From the position guide: frank, practical and comfort-aware, with the furniture that makes each one easier.
Hips at the bed's edge, legs up on the standing partner's shoulders.
Hips raised on a wedge or pillow for a better, supported angle.
One partner seated, the other straddling their lap, facing. Upright and intimate.
One partner reclines with a wedge lifting the hips. The angle does the work.
