Lantern Light and Mint Tea
A low tray, two glasses of tea, and nowhere to be until morning.
Boho Riad is built low: cushions on the floor, a canopy over the bed, lanterns throwing pattern on the walls. Tonight you start on the floor with a pot of tea and work your way up to the bed, slowly.
The evening
Candlelit: Sweet and talkative.
Make a pot of mint tea and set it on a tray on the floor. Sit on the cushions facing each other and talk about the best trip you ever took, or the one you still want to take together.
Pick a pause word you'd never say by accident. Either of you can use it, or simply say stop, at any point and for any reason. Check in along the way, and treat a not yet as a perfectly good answer.
The setting
Pierced lanterns and a cluster of candles, so pattern lands on the walls. Overhead lights off.
Something warm and hypnotic with a soft drum under it, low enough to talk over.
Warm and resinous, a little sweet, like a courtyard after dark.
Rough wool underfoot, soft linen on the bed, and cushions you can sink into.
Positions it suits
From the position guide: frank, practical and comfort-aware, with the furniture that makes each one easier.
One seated at the edge, the other close and supported. Upright and connected.
Both sitting up, wrapped around each other. Slow, close and very still.
Lying on your sides, turned toward each other. Eye contact and ease.
The partner on top lies fully stretched out along the other, chest to chest and legs straight. Movement is a slow glide rather than a bounce.
