The Private Club
Burgundy velvet, a tufted bench, and a members-only night.
Some rooms look like they have a dress code and a door policy. This one does tonight. Velvet everywhere, gold on the walls, and a set of house rules everyone agrees to before anyone gets in.
The evening
After Midnight: Bolder. Suggestive, never explicit.
Use the furniture. Straddle the bench, try oral in the armchair, or go from behind standing at the foot of the bed. Bring the couples toy in when you want more, and go back to the rules card if anyone's unsure.
Talk about what's on and off the table before anything starts, and agree on a pause word everyone knows. Anyone can step out at any point, with no explanation needed. Check in with each person, not only the group.
The setting
Kill the overheads. A cluster of pillar candles does the rest.
Slow standards and a little vinyl crackle, kept just under the conversation.
A dark, resinous candle that belongs with brass and lacquer.
Velvet pillows on the chair and bench, and something silky to wear in.
Positions it suits
From the position guide: frank, practical and comfort-aware, with the furniture that makes each one easier.
One partner straddles a padded bench lengthwise; the other straddles them, facing.
One partner sits in an armless chair; the other sits on their lap facing away.
One partner sits back in a deep chair, the other kneels on a cushion in front.
Both standing, the front partner bent forward against a wall, dresser or bed.
