Sunday, Slowly
A whole afternoon in bed, with the curtains half open.
Not every intimate evening happens at night. This one starts after lunch, in plaster and warm wood, with daylight doing most of the work.
The evening
Candlelit: Sweet and talkative.
Bring snacks to bed, start a movie neither of you will finish, and nap tangled up. Waking up next to each other in daylight is its own small luxury.
Pick a pause word you'd never say by accident. Either of you can use it, or simply say stop, at any point and for any reason. Check in along the way, and treat a not yet as a perfectly good answer.
The setting
Curtains half closed so the light comes in soft. Lamps can wait until dusk.
Fingerpicked guitar or soft neo-soul, nothing with hard edges.
Grounded and earthy, like the materials in the room.
Washed linen, a chunky knit throw, bare feet on a wool rug.
Positions it suits
From our position guide: comfort-first, non-explicit, and paired with the furniture that makes each one easier.
Both partners on their sides, one behind the other. Gentle and unhurried.
Both semi-reclined and cushioned. Minimal exertion, maximum ease.
Lying on your sides, turned toward each other, with eye contact and ease.
