Oxblood and Oud
A dark room, a warm oil, and a very slow massage.
Oud smells like something old and expensive, and in a dark red room it reads as an invitation. This is a long massage evening, scent first, with nobody in a hurry and every touch asked for.
The evening
Candlelit: Sweet and talkative.
Warm a little oil between your palms and give your partner a long, slow massage: shoulders, hands, feet. Ask before each new place. Then swap, and keep talking about anything except the day.
Pick a pause word you'd never say by accident. Either of you can use it, or simply say stop, at any point and for any reason. Check in along the way, and treat a not yet as a perfectly good answer.
The setting
A few black tapers on a tray and one small lamp turned toward the wall.
Something low and unhurried with a soft bassline. Keep it under the sound of your breathing.
An oud candle, or a drop of oud in a plain massage oil. Test it on a wrist first.
A dark towel under whoever is lying down, and a velvet throw over the part you're not working on.
Positions it suits
From the position guide: frank, practical and comfort-aware, with the furniture that makes each one easier.
Semi-reclined and cushioned. Minimal exertion, maximum ease. Good for solo nights too.
Both on your sides, one behind the other. Lazy in the best way.
Lying on your sides, turned toward each other. Eye contact and ease.
A seated, facing-away position where the partner in front hugs their knees into a ball. Cozy, compact and slow.
