Choosing and using lubricant
The main types of lube, what each one is good at, what it's safe with, which ingredients to skip, and how to use enough of it.

Sliquid's H2O formula made much thicker for anal play. It's safe with every toy and condom, has no numbing agents, and stays put far better than a thin water-based lube.

We haven't used Sassy. This take comes from Sliquid's partner info sheet, the product page and ingredient list on sliquid.com, and what a thicker water-based gel can and can't do next to H2O and Silver, which we've already reviewed.
Sassy starts from the same base as H2O, purified water and plant cellulose, with extra plant cellulose to turn it into a thick gel. Sliquid says the thicker texture gives more cushion and stays where you put it, and that's what anal play needs: the body doesn't make its own lubrication there, and thin lube slides away. There are no numbing or desensitizing ingredients. Sliquid leaves them out on purpose, warning that they can lead to tissue damage, and discomfort is the signal to slow down. It's glycerin and paraben free, vegan, unflavored and unscented, with a listed pH of 4.1 to 4.4. Because it's water-based, Sliquid says it's safe with all toy materials and all condoms, which matters here, since so many plugs are silicone.
Sassy sits next to H2O rather than replacing it: H2O for everyday, Sassy for anal. Use more than seems necessary and add more before it feels dry. A towel under the hips catches drips, though it won't stain, and it washes off skin and toys with warm water. If you share a toy or use condoms on toys, switch to a fresh condom when moving from anal to vaginal play.
You want one lube for everything (H2O is the all-rounder), or you play mostly with glass or steel and want the longest-lasting glide (Silver).
Anyone exploring anal play, with a partner or with toys, who wants a body-safe lube that works with silicone plugs and condoms.
