Also called: Standing carry, Lift and carry

One partner lifted and held, legs wrapped around the other's waist, back against a wall.

How to do it

One partner leans back against a wall. The other partner lifts them by the thighs or hips while they wrap their legs around the lifter's waist and arms around their neck. The wall carries part of the weight. It's the most famous Kama Sutra image and the hardest to sustain.

What it's good for

A dramatic moment. Most couples treat it as a brief thrill before moving to the bed or a sturdy surface.

Make it easier

Use a dresser or high bed edge instead of a wall: the lifted partner sits on the edge, and nobody carries anything.

A small tip

Lift with the legs, not the back, and set your partner down before your arms give out.

Comfort and care

This one takes real strength and balance. Skip it with a bad back, wrists or knees, and try it near the bed so there's somewhere soft to land.

Agree on it before you try it, use plenty of lube, and either of you can stop at any point. This guide is general information, not medical advice.
