The Candle
Also called: Legs straight up
The receiving partner lies back with both legs pointed straight up, together, like a candle. The kneeling partner holds them close against their chest.
The receiving partner lies on their back. The other partner kneels upright between or just under their hips, knees spread for a stable base. The receiving partner raises both legs straight up toward the ceiling, keeping them together, and the kneeling partner draws their hips in close so the receiving partner's lower back rests on the kneeling partner's thighs. The kneeling partner wraps an arm around the raised legs or holds the receiving partner's hips with both hands, while the receiving partner's arms rest on the bed or reach for the kneeling partner's thighs. Unlike legs on shoulders, the legs stay together in front of the kneeling partner's chest, which makes everything feel tighter. Tipping the legs slightly back toward the receiving partner's head deepens the angle; letting them lean against one of the kneeling partner's shoulders is easier to hold.
A snug fit and a strong angle, with the kneeling partner's hands free to hold, stroke or steady.
A wedge under the receiving partner's hips does the lifting so the legs can relax. Bending the knees a little takes the stretch out of the hamstrings.
The receiving partner can cross their ankles for an even tighter feel, then uncross them when they want more room.
Deep positions can hit the cervix or press on tender spots. Start shallow, let the receiving partner set the depth, and ease off at the first wince.
A wedge under the hips keeps the angle without anyone holding it up.
