Kneeling Astride
Also called: The Cross
The receiving partner lies back with legs straight and closed, and the other partner kneels upright astride their thighs.
The receiving partner lies on their back, legs stretched out and pressed together, hands relaxed behind their head or on the kneeling partner's thighs. The other partner kneels upright astride the receiving partner's legs, one knee on each side of their thighs, facing them. The kneeling partner leans in slightly and enters, keeping their back fairly upright and resting their hands on the receiving partner's hips or the bed. Because the receiving partner's legs stay closed, the fit is tight and the movement is short. Sitting the kneeling partner back toward the receiving partner's knees changes the angle; leaning forward over their belly brings you closer and puts more pressure against the front of the body.
A tight, focused feel with very little effort from the receiving partner, who can lie back and watch.
A pillow under the receiving partner's hips lifts them toward the kneeling partner so nobody has to hunch.
The receiving partner can squeeze and release their thighs in rhythm. It's a small move that changes the feel a lot.
Hard floors are rough on knees. A folded towel, pillow or thick rug underneath makes a real difference.
Agree on it before you try it, use plenty of lube, and either of you can stop at any point. This guide is general information, not medical advice.
