The Glowing Triangle
Also called: Diagonal missionary
A missionary variation where the top partner lies across the receiving partner at a diagonal, legs off to one side. Same closeness, new pressure points.
The receiving partner lies on their back and bends one knee up, keeping the other leg relaxed and straight. The other partner lies over them, but instead of lining up head to head, they angle their body so their legs extend out past the side of the bent knee, making a triangle between your bodies. The top partner props themselves up on hands or forearms beside the receiving partner's shoulders, keeping most of their weight off. The receiving partner can wrap their arms around the top partner's back or hold their shoulders and guide the pace. Because of the diagonal, the top partner's pelvis presses against a different spot, and small grinding movements tend to work better than long strokes. Switching which knee is raised flips the angle to the other side.
Kissing and steady external pressure with almost no effort. A gentle way to change up missionary without leaving it.
A pillow under the raised knee or under the receiving partner's hips makes it even more relaxed.
Let the receiving partner steer the diagonal. A few degrees one way or the other makes a real difference to where the pressure lands.
Later in pregnancy, lying flat on your back for long stretches can leave you lightheaded. Side-lying and on-top positions are usually more comfortable; check with your midwife or doctor if you're unsure.
Agree on it before you try it, use plenty of lube, and either of you can stop at any point. This guide is general information, not medical advice.
