The Crossed-Leg Rider

Also called: The Ship

The partner on top sits upright with legs folded cross-legged, so the movement becomes a slow sway instead of a ride.

How to do it

One partner lies flat on their back, legs straight. The other partner straddles their hips, lowers down, and then folds their legs in one at a time until they're sitting cross-legged on the bottom partner's pelvis, knees out to the sides. With their weight settled through the hips, the top partner sits tall and rests their hands on their own knees or on the bottom partner's belly. Movement is a slow sway, circle or forward-and-back rock, since there's no knee leverage for bouncing. Leaning slightly back puts pressure toward the front wall; leaning forward and resting hands on the bottom partner's chest gives more control.

What it's good for

Unhurried sex where neither partner is working hard. It's a nice pause in the middle of cowgirl.

Make it easier

If cross-legged is tight on the hips, the top partner can keep one leg folded and the other knee down on the bed.

A small tip

Let the bottom partner hold the top partner's hips and guide the circles. Swap who leads halfway through.

Comfort and care

Cross-legged sitting is hard on stiff hips and knees. Keep one or both knees down on the bed instead; it works just as well.

Agree on it before you try it, use plenty of lube, and either of you can stop at any point. This guide is general information, not medical advice.
