Choosing your first sex machine
Power range, noise under load, and where it lives between uses. What matters when buying a first sex machine, and how to use it safely.

The newest version of the machine we own, with more control on top: an app, programmable patterns and a speed display, on the same KlicLok attachment system. Worth the step up if you want the app. If you don't, the Premium Pro still does the job.

Our take draws on Hismith's published specifications and on how the 4.0 compares with the Hismith Premium Pro, which we own and have used for more than four years. We haven't used the 4.0 itself, so we've stuck to what Hismith publishes and to the differences that matter if you're choosing between the two.
It keeps everything that makes the Premium line good and adds control. The 100W motor runs up to 267 strokes a minute, and the stroke adjusts from about 1.3 to 5 inches. You can run it from the wired controller, which has a 2.5-inch display showing the speed, or from the Hismith app, which adds built-in modes, programmable patterns and patterns other people have shared. It uses KlicLok, so attachments click on without tools, and it works with the KlicLok attachments you may already have. The stand is modular, so parts can be swapped or upgraded without replacing the whole machine, and it comes with a silicone dildo, a canvas bag and a dust cover.
Treat it as furniture. It's heavy, runs on mains power and wants a flat floor, so pick a spot with an outlet nearby and leave room to sit or lie in front of it. A wedge or ramp gets the height right. Between uses, the canvas bag and dust cover help, and a locked closet works for storage if you share the house.
You don't care about the app, since the Premium Pro covers the same ground for less, or you have nowhere to keep a 25-pound machine.
Couples or solo players who want serious, adjustable power and like the idea of app control, saved patterns or a partner running it from the phone.
